How are employees in the financial sector doing?
That’s exactly what we wanted to find out with our ‘How are you?’ survey. Many thanks to everyone who took part in the survey. Overall, the results paint a positive picture, but it is also clear where action is needed – particularly regarding work-life balance, working from home and the use of AI.
The survey has been successfully completed and analysed. We are now presenting the results to you, summarised briefly in a one-pager for each topic area.
Employee exhaustion is increasing
First, the good news: the majority of employees in the Swiss financial sector are doing well. However, the workload in the financial sector is high and continues to rise, whilst productivity is increasing. The growing number of exhausted employees is a cause for concern for the SBEA. As the sector’s most important asset, employees need more time to recover – the SBEA will advocate for this in the upcoming negotiations.
Criticism of the Federal Council’s proposal
In its consultation response regarding the 100% capital requirement for foreign holdings in the parent company of systemically important banks, the SBEA criticises the Federal Council for completely ignoring the impact on jobs and working conditions.
The SBEA calls for a workable compromise to be found in the design of the capital adequacy requirements and for employees’ working conditions to be systematically taken into account in future.
